Hi all, My name is Matt McCracken.    I am a Quadriplegic.
The reason for developing this discussion forum and our website www.cpdsn.com, is that people with
any physical disability can now access and receive information and support from others that have had a similar life experience. As we all know we all have different experiences and that we can learn from each others experiences as well. Family, Carers, Supporters of young ones that they could possibly assist them with future cares and to understand what could happen in the future because they have not been there yet.  The medical model can only tell you about things that have been studied, not the day to day living with a disability. They do not understand our pain, our personality, isolation, and sense of grief,  With this new Forum, we can build new friends and have a sense of inclusion with our peers that have life experience and an understanding of what you are going though.  As a group of people with a physical disability we can have a larger voice to gain access to our communities by discussing our experiences in them and gain community awareness about people with a disability and have more inclusion in our communities.
IF ONLY PEOPLE COULD SEE PAST THE DISABILITY AND SEE THE VALUE OF THE PERSON FOR WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY BRING TO THE COMMUNITY.

OUR VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to have a Community where everybody is Welcome, Respected to have equal rights as one without the threat of discrimination and feel valued for what they bring to our greater community.
